This Toolbox Environment has been created to help support our Bee Development Team as we work through processes in our HivePIx Product Development Roadmap. The intent in delivering this site is to support active and ongoing engagement in our ‘Hive’ development so our customers can genuinely feel the amazing “buzz” of being connected in our Community for Product Information Exchange.

What information is exchanged?

HivePix is built on Product Data information used to describe or define the attributes that make up a product. It is what the product is (for example, specifications, safety information, regulatory information, carbon footprint at the point of manufacture, and more as relevant to the product).

As Product Data of this nature comes from the manufacturing source, it is typically information that is intended to be shared across systems in a supply-chain. Most of this data exchange happens manually though, due to the different systems used across, and even within, companies.

Delivering a Golden Template Taxonomy for Product Data

One of the prevalent issues in Product Information Management globally is the lack of a consistent approach (golden template) to enable streamlining of product data for effective sharing, matching and tracking of products. To help in addressing this sizable gap, a 'golden' taxonomy template has been designed to enable a modularised structure based on Universal (Core) attributes as well as attributes specific to different Industries. There is also identification of fields aligned to GS1 (standard). The approach used enables a build (layering of attributes) to support easier upgrading to multi-industry requirements.
